I was just astounded by a comment I read from a Progressive suggesting future generations will surely be more intelligent than we and more capable of solving large social problems. Why would someone have this opinion? Where is the evidence to back this up? We aren’t any more wise or brilliant than past generations. If anything we are far more ignorant and susceptible to lunacy, and getting more-so with each passing decade. Especially so when one considers the profound ignorance of history and the current susceptibility to its repetition. Sure, I’m hopeful things can reverse themselves and perhaps they will.
